A Decade After the Closure of ‘Toontown Online’, Fans Commemorate Ten More Years of Toontastic Fun

Richland, Washington – September 19, 2023 – Toontown Rewritten, the free-to-play revival of Disney’s Toontown Online, begins celebrating its’ 10 year anniversary on Tuesday with a year-long celebration.

Despite closing its’ doors a decade ago, Toontown Online is a virtual world that left a significant impact on the lives of thousands — from children to the young at heart. Putting time and energy into something like reviving an online game is only possible with thousands of people to play it.

The celebrations kick off Tuesday at ‘Toontown’s Cartoonival’, an in-game fairground built to make what was once a sad day into one worth celebrating. Players can join together to play fun activities and earn all-new prizes, all while celebrating the virtual world that’s defined the lives of many people.

“People often thank us for saving Toontown, but that wasn't us... It was all of you,” reminisced Joey Ziolkowski, Creative Director of Toontown Rewritten. “Your kindness, resilience, friendships, humor, and joy are what keeps Toontown going every day.”

Celebrations will continue into 2024, with new game content and exciting surprises in the works. Players can expect to experience the world of Toontown in all-new ways, all while keeping the charm of the original game.
